The cause of the issue is that some motherboards have an USB 2.0/3.0 inter-operability system, which the x52 drivers don't like. Though, it's an easy fix which involves going into the BIOS and turning xHCI off. It had very long boot up times and wouldn't shut down properly when I had it plugged in. SAITEK X52 PRO BUTTON LAYOUT PCI've not seen a 'hog for less than $400, you can find the x52 for ~ $150.īe aware with the x52 pro, I had an issue with mine causing my PC to pretty much go to crap. The only thing the x52 Pro has on the 'hog is price. Pedals are highly recommended along with head tracking of some sort (free track/trackir/oc rift). ![]() It really depends on what you have & how much you can afford. If you plan on expanding your horizons in flight sims, it's a great investment. You'll regret it when you've stopped playing & moved on. You can feel the quality in every button. No need to Velcro it down to keep the base from poppin up. If you can afford the jump - get the 'hog. SST is trash & crashes if you plug the HOTAS into a USB 3.0 port. I'd find small plastic shavings & the base where the aluminum disc was slowly wearing down the plastic ring. Lubed it up, however it quickly began sticking again. I had issues with the aluminum disc (base of spring) creating friction. Really, find a good price somewhere and it's a pretty good HOTAS. Couldn't sell it on CL, so I stopped trying. At some point I may use it for aux/extra switches (throttle only). I've gone thru the x45, x52, x52 Pro & TM 'hog. Twisty is Trashy! Pedals make a world of difference. You can lock the twist axis if you get a set of pedals in the future (recommended). The throttle has plenty of sliders and buttons to map CEM.The throttle has a couple of large rotating axis that are perfect for trimming the plane. The trigger has a REALLY nice feel to it.I'll turn them on for a space sim like Star Citizen. I find them distracting and unrealistic for a WW2 sim. There are a lot of other (warranty voiding) hacks that you can do to it. I opened my throttle and removed the 'bumps' that come with it.Learning to be lighter on the stick is better than using in game settings as a crutch. The stick has some non-linear already built in. Makes the controls as realistic as possible. In game make sure you have sensitivity to 100%, multiplier 1, and non-linear 1. SAITEK X52 PRO BUTTON LAYOUT SOFTWAREIts a little fiddly to set up due to the crappy software but its worth it. ![]() Apparently new software is on the way (with the release of the x55).
